They were on the 7 seas long before the Spanish and the British, but
today they have absolutely no importance.

Are Vikings too weak to create a world-empire ?

Some ppl's brains seem to equate empire-building
to well-being and I'd assume wealth.
...interesting but also flawed.

I thought the USA was found by Vikings.;^))

Just get Neo-Con Godfather Perle and his merry men
put some horns on their Yarmulkas.;^))

The British Empire and offshoot USA are result of Viking initiation.
It is only after the Viking conquest that Brittan evolved into sea power.

Well, the USA is not run by Vikings or Scandinavians now. LOL

Many claim is it basically the big dollar Federal Reserve banks who now run
America.

Yes, and see what mess the WASPs have made of it. I as a Scandinavian don't
want to blemish our reputation by in any way be associated with the current
administration in USA. People there even let Austrians* get power, and look
how that ended the last time**.

*To people in America that may read this I will have to explain the Austrian
joke. Hitler was Austrian and he ended up as one of history's most infamous
butchers, and if you didn't know Arnold 'The Guvenator' Schwarzenegger
are/was Austrian to.
Austrians live in a small country in Europe called Austria. People there
talk German, but are no German nationals. Most Swiss*** people also talk
German, but neither them are German nationals.

** It referees to a thing called World War 2, that a guy called Adolph
Hitler started more then 60 years ago. Most Americans think it started with
the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbour. but in fact it officially started when
Germany (and Russia) invaded Poland.

*** Swiss people live in Switzerland , making Swiss chocolate, expensive
watches and do a lot of banking. Switzerland should NOT be confused with
Sweden, that are situated much more to the north in Europe and where people
don't speak German, don't make Swiss chocolate, expensive watches and only
do some banking. In Sweden we make Swedish chocolate, expensive cars, mobile
phones and really nice howitzers.

Well, I can tell you the White Anglo-Saxon Protestants no longer run
America. LOL

They have very little power now in America.

Are Vikings too weak to create a world-empire ?
1. No central government. The so called Vikings was divided in small
independent kingdoms.

2. No trained bureaucracy. It was not until the Christian church got a
foothold in Scandinavia, the different Scandinavian kings got the glue that
binds a bureaucracy together. With the Christian priests and monks they got
trained personnel, used to administer a large organisation.

However the Vikings did at least partly built two or three Empires, or at
least helped starting them.
First the Danes invades England and all but in name took over the rule.
Later the Norman's moved in to England, and as you may know the Norman's was
descendants of Vikings that settled in France. Also Norman's founded a
Kingdom on Sicily and the south of the Italian peninsula, not that it lasted
very long or could be described as an empire.
The Vikings also with the co-operation of the Slavic and Fino-Ugrian tribes
formed a Kingdome that later would be Russia, and that empire still stands,
if we would say that Siberia are colonies.

This is true. In fact the term "Normans" is short for "northmen". The term
was apparently created to describe "Vikings from the North" who settled and
conquered areas along the coast of France. This land later came to be known
as Normandy.

The Vikings who settled there seemed to like the tenets of Christianity so
much that they became Christian. While they did pick up much of the French
language, many of the sir names of William the Conqueror's men still
remained as Viking names.

At the time there was not that many central governments elsewhere
either. Viking liked robbing and such more than governments. Probably
they also would have had a hard time selecting a leader who stayed long
enough to create an empire.
Viking dislike of their leaders is known even today. Sweden is not a
safe place to be a leader.

No, no, governments like robbing more.
That's why governments rule the world.

Governments are able to take their cut in such slices that the people
working are not killed.
Compare that with the Viking. Famously - when they inhabited Iceland
they cut off all the trees. And thus some starved as the arable land
went with the trees.
